Through the Looking Glass
Acrylic, collage, wood, canvas over shaped support
84.5 x 57.5 inches
Commentary:
A series of framing devices are held in suspension activating a background/foreground tension of large energetic expressionistic brush work. One is drawn into, or through, a vacillating picture plane of another world that is neither here nor there —perhaps challenging the notion that the reality of this painting is a static thing. Instead, the relationship to the painting and its reality could be open-ended and ever changing.
