Sunrise/Sunset
Acrylic on wood, canvas over shaped stretcher with paper collage
41 x 78.5 inches

Commentary:

Long rectangular color blocks of varying sizes are a stand in for colors often used to represent a sunrise or sunset. Bright yellow holds the center. The canvas is divided diagonally with white and black symbolizing day and night, light and dark, and unifying the canvas as a whole into Sunrise/Sunset. The painting itself is saying the title.
